One of the big differences between Classical (Object-Oriented) and Prototypal inheritance is that the former has an elegant mechanism for referring to the parent using the super keyword. It's often used in constructors to initialize the parent class with the supplied input parameters.
The JavaScript call() Method The call() method is a predefined JavaScript method. It can be used to invoke (call) a method with an owner object as an argument (parameter). With call(), an object can use a method belonging to another object.

As others have said, with a plain object it is not possible to lookup a parent from a nested child. However, it is possible if you employ recursive ES6 Proxies as helpers. The methods JSON.stringify() and JSON.parse() allow you to customize how they work by passing in a function. Let’s call that function a node visitor. Both methods iterate over a tree of JavaScript values whose compound nodes are arrays and objects and whose leaves are primitive values (booleans, numbers, strings).
